3. General Information
The rules of the DSV (German swimming regulations) and the anti-doping regulations will be in full force during the competitions.
The one-start-rule will apply - no false start.

4. Eligibility and entitlement to compete
All national and foreign federations, clubs or teams as far as their federations are FINA’s members are entitled to compete.

5. Specification of the pool
The swimming pool is 50 m long with 10 lanes, divided by wavebreaking ropes. Competitors can use the pool for warming up until 10 minutes prior to the competition. The depth of the pool is 3.00 metres at all points. Water’s temperature is 27°C. Automatic measuring will be in use.

6. Panel of judges
The judges will be supplied by the Berliner Schwimm-Verband (BSV).

7. Placing of heats / pre.-heats and Final heats
All races will be swum in 10 lanes.

The preliminary heats will be set and timed by international rules without consideration of age groups and ranking.

In all other heats the setting and placing of the lanes will be decided by the registration or qualification times, again without consideration of age groups. The fastest race will be swum last.

Setting of two swimmers in a lane is not allowed.
The organizer reserves to himself to fill up vacant lanes.

8. Restrictions / limitations
The organizer reserves to himself to limit the number of entries about distances of 200m and longer (in case of problems with time schedule). If it is necessary to limit the entries of the 200m-distances, the limitation will be done in each age-group to equal shares. Limitations in the respective age-group will be made in dependence of the registration times. That means, the fastest entries of the respective age-group take priority. See also the table on the end of this invitation. The number of heats in the age groups Youngster II female and Youngsters III male can be limited to 4.

The clubs will be informed about rejected entries with their official confirmation.
The organizer is entitled to reject over the meeting schedule going out registrations. The order of rank of the incoming registrations is crucial.

9. Final heats qualification
The 8 fastest swimmers will be qualified for the corresponding final heats of the 50 m and 100m races. In case of qualified swimmers scratch their final entry in time, there are three reserve swimmers nominated for moving up to the final heat. The number of scratches decide the number of the moved up swimmers.
If more than 8 swimmers are qualified for the final heat race of their age group because they are swum the same time, the panel of judges decide the final participation by drawing lots.

Registrations should be send by letter, fax or especially by email. Please use as far as possible the enclosed registration forms or the DSV-forms no. 109 and 102. In case of sending registrations with datafile to standard DSV (german standard) there have to be attached additionally the both forms as above as file. The clubs and teams have to make sure their own contact’s data validity (address, fax, email). Note: registrations sent with email only are valid with a organizer’s receiving-confirmation to the sender.
Incomplete, illegible registrations or registrations without entry-time cannot be accepted.
Each team have to include in their entry list the number of athletes, coaches and managers that will be present at the competition as well as the account relationship for repaying entry fees.

12. Entry fee
The entry fee is 8,00 Euro per person and each start. By reaching the standard times 2,30 Euro will repayed. The entry fees payment has to be made at the same time as the application, either by cheque or by cash payment before competitions beginning. Alternative you can transfer the entry fee to the following banking account:

The transfer has to be made so early enough, that the transfer is by competion’s beginning completed and the fee is credited to organizers account.
The repaying of entry fee will be done by transfer. The clubs are requested to entitle a valid account by registration their entries.

13. Organization
Each participating club will receive a confirmation of receipt of its entries (and rejections respectively). This confirmation will be send to the clubs especially by email, letter or fax and contains if necessary a list of the proceedings, and up-to-date information about the competition.

Before competition’s beginnings each team will receive all relevant documents, for example, the complete heat sheets documentcard and and the participants cards in the competition office. The entry fee payment confirmation of the bank must be shown in case of necessity at the competition office.

The competition office is located in the entrance area of the swimming hall.

The obligatory supervision of swimmers is comitted by the clubs.

14. Age groups
14.1. Age groups single

The following age groups will be used as in the order of competition listed:

a. open group male and female
b. Years 89 & older male
c. Years 91 & older female
d. EJC male 90/91
e. EJC female 92/93
f. EYOF male 92/93
g. EYOF female 94/95
h. Youngsters I male 94/95
i. Youngsters I female 96/97
j. Youngsters II male 96/97
k. Youngsters II female 98
l. Youngsters III male 98

Specific regulations for all 100m-distances:
The races of open group (a.) will be decided in the corresponding final heats, all other age groups (d.-l.) will be decided in the preliminary heats.

14.2. Age groups teams
A ranking of teams will be made by following points allocation and age groups(1st place = 10 points, 2nd place = 8 points, 3rd place = 7 points and so on 8th place = 2 points). This counting of points will be done only in the final heats and deciding races. The deciding races of the 100m age groups are included in the ranking of teams.

• Youth male: Years 90-93
• Youth female: Years 92-95
• Youngsters male: Years 94-98
• Youngsters female: Years 96-98

15. Prizes
15.1. Prizes in single age groups
In all final heats, deciding races and the 100m-decisions in the preliminary heats according to the age groups point 14.1. d.-l. will receive

• places 1-8 of each age group: certificates
• places 1-3 of each age group: medals or special awards

The winners of the 100m-Final heats will receive
• Open group Prizes worth 100,-- Euro

The winners of the 50m-Final heats will receive according the following age groups:

• Open group Prizes worth 70,-- Euro
• EJC Prizes worth 40,-- Euro
• EYOF Prizes worth 40,-- Euro
• Youngsters I Prizes worth 20,-- Euro
• Youngsters II Prizes worth 20,-- Euro
• Youngsters III Prizes worth 20,-- Euro

The 6 absolutely best results in points (valid DSV-Comparative performance table swimming*) will get (only one swimmer in one score) the following prizes

• 1st Place male: 500,-- Euro
• 1st Place female: 500,-- Euro
• 2nd Place male: 250,-- Euro
• 2nd Place female: 250,-- Euro
• 3rd Place male: 200,-- Euro
• 3rd Place female: 200,-- Euro
• 4th Place male: 125,-- Euro
• 4th Place female: 125,-- Euro
• 5th Place male: 75,-- Euro
• 5th Place female: 75,-- Euro
• 6th Place male: 50,-- Euro
• 6th Place female: 50,-- Euro

15.2. Prizes in team age groups
The best team in points according to the ranking of teams will get in

• Open group male: ISM-team cup open group
• Open group female: ISM-team cup open group
• Youth male: ISM-team cup youth
• Youth female: ISM-team cup youth
• Youngsters male: ISM-team cup children
• Youngsters female: ISM-team cup children

15.3. Special prizes
For a new World Record (open group) the swimmer will receive a

• Prize 2.000,-- Euro

For a new European Record (open group) the swimmer will receive a

• Prize 1.000,-- Euro

If there will be swum several similar records during ISM 2008, the swimmer of the record with the best result in points (valid DSV-Comparative performance table Swimming*) will receive the money cash prize.

The organizer reserves to himself to award another special prizes. This is valid for awarding of all prices: If more swimmers have equal placements, prizes will be shared in equal amount to the swimmers.

16. Victory ceremony
The victory ceremony is part of the competition. Uncollected prizes will not be sent on.

17. Miscellaneous
The complete entry lists and the results will be available on the meeting homepage

The organizer has the right to change the timeschedule, in case of it will be necessary. The sessions 4 and 6 will be swum with modified lighting conditions (underwater-light / underwater-spotlight, dimmed light in hall).

18. Journey, accomodation
The clubs have exclusively to request, book and reserve accomodaition for themself. Actual journey information on low priced flights, hostels and hotels are available on the meeting homepage.

19. Catering / lunch
On all days we are offering lunch and supper (only Friday an Saturday) for swimmers. More information about ordering the meals will be available in time on the meeting-homepage:

20. Declarations (Health / Start’s authorization)
With registrating entries the clubs affirm, that all clubs participants will be in health and fit. Also the clubs affirm, all registrated swimmers are authorized to start for the club, and the annually license fee is payed (§ 15, passage 2, letter f , german regulation swimming championships).

21. Results / documents
The result documents will be published in the pool’s area. The participating clubs have to state already explicitly by sending their registrations, if they want to get a complete copy of results in paper. If there is no statement for this, it is assumed that results in paper are not desired.
The complete results and documents are available as printable PDF-documents on the meeting homepage.
Clubs which ordered results / documents in paper, will get their copies by showing the protocol card in the protocol room after each competions’s session. If desired documents (and certificates) can be sent out if the address and a deposit of € 6,00 are given.

22. Liability
The organizers and Bäderbetriebe of Berlin are not liable for lost property, damages or injuries.

Informations for all swimmers and trainers::

Bathing shoes must be worn in the pool area!

According point 8.: Restrictions / limitations

The organizer reserves to himself to limit the number of entries for distances of 200m an longer (in case of problems with time schedule) according to the following schedule. The number of heats in the age groups Youngster II female and Youngsters III male can be limited to 4.
