3. General Information
The rules and regulations (WB and RO) of the Gernan Swimming Federation (DSV) and the anti-doping regulations will be in full force during the competitions.
For handicapped swimmers with the appropriate classification of evidence the rules and regulations of the German Disabled Sports Federation (DBS) will be in force additionally. The one-start-rule will apply - no false start.
4. Participation and take-off permission
The competition is open to members of clubs or teams which belong to a DSV associated federation. The competition is also open to all foreign members of clubs or teams as far as their national federations are FINA’s members and are entitled to compete.
Clubs and teams, which belong to a DSV associated federation have to be careful: The competition is open only to swimmers who are registered at DSV and the annual license fee according to § 15 Pt. 2 (f) of EUR 12, - €' is paid. This is to insure by sending the entries according to § 11 Pt. 1 (WB of DSV).
5. Specification of the pool
The swimming pool is 50 m long with 10 lanes, divided by wavebreaking ropes. Competitors can use the pool for warming up until 10 minutes prior to the competition. The depth of the pool is 3.00 metres at all points. Water’s temperature is 27°C. Automatic measuring will be in use.
6. Panel of judges
The judges will be supplied by the Berliner Schwimm-Verband (BSV).
7. Placing of heats / pre.-heats and final heats
All races will be swum in 10 lanes. The preliminary heats will be set and timed by international rules without consideration of age groups and ranking.
In all other heats the setting and placing of the lanes will be decided by the registration or qualification times, again without consideration of age groups. The fastest race will be swum last. Setting of two swimmers in a lane is not allowed. The organizer reserves to himself to fill up vacant lanes.
8. Limitations
8.1. Limitations - heats
In case of problems with time schedule the organizer reserves to himself to limit the number of entries. The limitation will be done within a maximum number of heats depending to the distances. See the list below.
According to this surplus entries will rejected with priority to the distances of 200m and higher.
The approved entries of a competition will be divided equally among the respective age groups, depending on the entry time. That means, the fastest entries of the respective age group take priority. Even entries within the standard times and faster will be included in case to a necessary limitation procedure.

The clubs will be informed about rejected entries with their official confirmation (see 13.1).
8.2. General limitation - complete competition
The organizer reserves to himself in case of far beyond the competition frame incoming entries, to close the acceptation of entries already earlier than final entry date. The order of rank of the incoming registrations is crucial. The announcement of such an action takes place simultaneously at the ISM- homepage.
9. Final heats qualification
The 10 fastest swimmers of the 50m and 100m races in each age group will be qualified to the corresponding final heats. In case of qualified swimmers scratch their final entry in time, there are three reserve swimmers nominated for moving up to the final heat. The number of scratches decide the number of the moved up swimmers. If more than 10 swimmers are qualified for the final heat race of their age group because they are swum the same time, the panel of judges decide the final participation by drawing lots.

Registrations should be send prior by email. Please use as far as possible the enclosed registration forms or the DSV-forms no. 109 and 102. In case of sending registrations with datafile to standard DSV (german standard) there have to be attached additionally the both forms as above as file. The clubs and teams have to make sure their own contact’s data validity (address, fax, email). Registrations sent by email are only valid with an organizer’s receiving-confirmation to the sender. Incomplete, illegible registrations or registrations without entry-time cannot be accepted. Each team has to include to the entry list the number of athletes, also the number of team companions according to item 13.2.

Later incoming entrys can not be considered.
12. Entry fee
The entry fee is 10,00 Euro per person and each start. By reaching the requiring times (standard times) 3,00 Euro will repayed. The entry fee payment has to be made at arrival by cash before the first start in the Check-In (accredition). Alternative you can transfer the entry fee to the following banking account:

Important: The transfer has to be made so early, that the transfer is by competition’s beginning completed and the fee is verifiably credited to organizers account. Already payed fee for possibly rejected entries according to point 8. will repayed. Refunds of entry fees for reaching standard times will be done by the organizer by banking transfer. The clubs are therefore requested to nominate a valid banking account connection already with sending their entries.
The entry fee will not be refunded due to scratches by the club after final entry date, swimmer’s absence or disqualification in the race.
13. Organization
13.1. Common
Each participating club will receive a confirmation of receipt of its entries (and rejections respectively). This confirmation will be send to the clubs only by email and contains the numbers of athletes and starts. Clubs without e-mail address can check their entries on the meeting homepage. Complaints about their entries must be made not later than 48 hours after deadline.
Before competition’s beginning each team will receive all relevant documents, for example, the start lists, clubcard and the participants cards in the Check-In by showing their entries confirmation. The entry fee payment confirmation of the bank must be shown in case of necessity at the Check-In. The Check-In is located in the entrance area of the swimming hall. Informations about ISM are also available and given due notice on the meeting homepage www.ism‑germany.com .
13.2. Team’s companions (Coaches, assistants, physios …)
The total authorized number of team companions based on the number of athletes. For the first five athletes two companions cards are provided. For every fraction of a further five athletes increases the number of companion cards to each one. The supervision of the athletes during warm-up and s.o. have to do the companions.
13.3. Visa affairs
Teams which are in need for visa to enter Germany for participating at ISM are recommended to make a contact with their competent authorities and ISM’s organizer. This should be done at the latest 6 weeks before final entry date (that means mid January 2010).
14. Age groups
14.1. Age groups single
The following age groups will be used as in the order of competition listed:

Specific regulations for all 100m-distances:
The races of open group (a.) will be decided in the corresponding final heats, all other age groups (d.-l.) will be decided in the preliminary heats.
14.2. Age groups teams
A ranking of teams will be made by following points allocation and age groups (1st place = 10 points, 2nd place = 8 points, 3rd place = 7 points and so on 8th place = 2 points). This counting of points will be done only in the final heats and deciding races. The deciding races of the 100m age groups are included in the ranking of teams.

For a new European Record (open group) the swimmer will receive a

If there will be swum several similar records during ISM 2010, the swimmer of the record with the best result in points (valid DSV-Comparative performance table Swimming*) will receive the money cash prize. The organizer reserves to himself to award another special prizes. This is valid for awarding of all prices: If more swimmers have equal placements, prizes will be shared in equal amount to the swimmers.
16. Victory ceremony
The victory ceremony is part of the competition. Uncollected prizes (medals and cups) will not be sent on. The forwarding of certificates is possible. See item 21.
17. Miscellaneous
17.1. Top-Race (TR)
The organizer is entitled to arrange one Top-Race (TR) on each day. The TR is only one heat for the male swimmers and one heat for the female swimmers. These two heats can be placed within the order of competitions of each day. The TR are independent of age groups and prizes as above. The participants, discipline, distance, agegroup and prizes will be defined and published in time.
17.2. Internet
The complete entry lists and the results will be available on the meeting homepage
www.ism-germany.com .
17.3. Lightning
The sessions 4 and 6 will be swum with modified lighting conditions (underwater-light / underwater-spotlight, dimmed light in hall).
17.4. Data privacy
With registrating entries to the organizer the clubs and participants are accepting the use of their data as is the rule for swimming competitions (for example: publishing in heat sheets and results in print and online media).
18. Journey, accomodation
The clubs have exclusively to request, book and reserve accomodaition for themself. Actual journey information on low priced flights, hostels and hotels are available on the meeting homepage. The organizer recommends booking early to make the quarters.

19. Catering / lunch
On all days we are offering lunch and supper (only Friday an Saturday. More information about ordering the meals will be available in time on the meeting-homepage:

20. Declarations (Health)
With registrating entries the clubs affirm, that all clubs participants will be in health and fit.
21. Results / documents
The clubs will get no copy of the result documents in paper. The complete results and documents are available as printable PDF-documents on the meeting homepage. The result documents will be published also in the pool’s area. If desired certificates can be sent to Germany if the address and a deposit of € 6,00 are given. International forwarding of certificates can be done if the address and a deposit of € 12,00 are given.
22. Liability
The organizers and Bäderbetriebe of Berlin are not liable for lost property, damages or injuries.
